PODIUM FINISH IN HOME RACE

Well, we did it. We got a podium finish in our home race.

Having been on the pace throughout the weekend Frankie crossed the line in P3 in the Sprint Race, having started P4.

FREE PRACTICE

Unfortunately Marchy Lee was not able to do the rookie session for Team China which meant we had to start off the weekend with a small disadvantage.

Nevertheless Frankie showed that both himself and the car were on form this weekend by very quickly setting some very fast lap times. We were actually the quickest car on used tires. When teams went for their new tires we enden up P5, still not too bad.

QUALIFYING

W ith a P4 and P6 for the respective races we had every reason to be happy. The championship is definitely getting more and more competitive every year and every round and to end up with this result at the end of the day is very satisfying. Team China has claimed it's place amongst the top teams.

SPRINT RACE

Having started in P4, Frankie did well to avoid the hassle in the first corner and duly took a podium finish in front of his very enthusiastic home crowd. The atmosphere at the track was really overwhelming.

FEATURE RACE

It was nice to be able to go with legitimate high hopes of another high finish into Team China's home race in front of the patriotic crowd.

After an OK first part of the race in which we were constantly running in the top 6, things went wrong in the second pit stop. Frankie stopped a little short in the pit stop box which cost us several valuable seconds in the pit stop. Unfortunately the adrenalin probably got the better of Frankie as he drove out of the pit lane a bit too quick which prompted a drive-through penalty. At the end of it all we came out in P10. Frankie got his head down and with some 5 laps got one place back to finish up P9.
